Nell Constantinople is an American Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker who has spent her career chasing stories across the globe, from exploring spirituality in Chile, to the adverse impact of technology in the Philippines, to exposing the cracks in the criminal justice system in her home country. 

Nell's latest production with director Richard Linklater, God Save Texas, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. The documentary series is now streaming on HBO Max.

From 2021-2023, she joined Story Syndicate as SVP of Current Content, overseeing a number of documentary projects there, including two Emmy-nominated films for Netflix, I Am Vanessa Guillen, and Unknown: Cosmic Time Machine, about the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope, in addition to the Hulu/ABC News series The Murders Before the Marathon.

In 2020, Nell served as Series Producer on The Me You Can’t See with Executive Producers Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry that lifts the veil on the current state of mental health. The six-part series premiered on AppleTV+ in 2021.

In 2018, she made her directorial debut on the STARZ series Wrong Man, which reinvestigated the wrongful conviction case of Evaristo Salas Jr. After the show aired, attorneys filed a motion for a trial based on new evidence uncovered by the team’s investigation. In 2023, Salas was released from prison after serving 27 years behind bars. 

She began her career at National Geographic, marketing and distributing feature films such as Academy Award nominee Restrepo, and has gone on to produce documentary series for HBO, Netflix, AppleTV+, CNN and Showtime, including The Fourth Estate and Abstract: The Art of Design. Nell has collaborated with renowned directors Richard Linklater (God Save Texas), Liz Garbus (The Fourth Estate) and Joe Berlinger (Wrong Man).  Her work on the Showtime series The Fourth Estate, about the relationship between The New York Times and Trump's first year in office, garnered an Emmy nomination, premiering opening night at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.

She is a proud member of the Director’s Guild of America (DGA) and lives in Brooklyn with her husband Billy and daughter Ruby.
